Styled Shoot At Scarlet Hall
As I enter my ninth year shooting weddings, which I can’t quite believe. I’m usually the type of guy who moves on from one thing to another every couple of years. When I started shooting weddings I didn’t think this journey would last this long. Though the truth is I hope it goes on forever. I love shooting weddings so much that in 2024 I co-founded FedWed (The Federation Of Wedding Photographers and Filmmakers) with my good friend Adam of ARJ Photography.
These images have all been taken by myself at a styled shoot at Scarlet Hall. The actual day was designed and planned by us at FedWed to give other wedding photographers the ability to meet new people, learn new skills and build their own wedding portfolios. This Cheshire wedding venue was the perfect place for us to host this event and it went so well. The day was extremely collaborative and all the photographers helped each other with photo ideas and techniques.
One great take away from this is that so many photographers where shooting the same scene in the same light with the same couple, yet after seeing all of the images from all of the wedding photographers the images are so different. The compositions and the use of light differs is so many great creative ways. The editing styles varied in so many ways too. This is what I truly love about wedding photography and how we can all put our own stamp on how things are shot. I was impressed in how some preferred black and white images and some not so much.
As this was a styled shoot most of the images you see here in this post have a stronger editorial feel to them. And even though there were no wedding guests in the session, we hired a real couple that are together and wanted to model for us. So I was still able to give a slight candid approach in some of the shots. I hope these images can give you some inspiration for how you might like your wedding photos to look. Or perhaps your looking for a wedding venue and this can give you an idea on what sort of venue you might prefer for your big day. As a cheshire wedding photographer I can attest to this venue being absolutely incredible.
