The Dolomite Mountains are one of the most beautiful places on Earth and this is why it’s so popular for weddings and elopements. Lago Di Braies will just blow you away with its composition, colours and atmosphere. That is why it’s such a special place to host a wedding or an elopement. Its soft and gentle turquoise waters create a dramatic contrast against the rugged peaks that rise above it. Reasons for a Lake Braies Elopement

Karissa and Bryan chose this location for their wedding for a couple of reasons. Reasons I completely agree with. I’ve been shooting weddings as an Italy Wedding Photographer for a while and with Italy having so many beautiful locations it’s hard to to pinpoint which is my favourite. But here is why Karassa and Bryan loved this place so much.

Hiking Trails: Going on great walks is a popular activity for many couples and what better place to do it than here at Lago Di Braies. Eloping here means you’ll likely be coming here with your fiance only. You can see from the images in this wedding post that Karassa came super prepared for this one with her hunter walking boots.
Wedding Photography: Knowing that they wanted to have their wedding ceremony here in Italy, one of the most picturesque countries in the world. They knew this location would make for incredible wedding photos. As a creative destination wedding photographer, I’ve had plenty of experience travelling the world shooting weddings and after Karassa + Bryan had got in touch I knew between the three of us we would make some amazing wedding photos.
A Beautiful Wedding Film: It wasn’t just the three of us soaking up the atmosphere of Lago Di Braies on this adventurous elopement though. The Mighty Sam of Moss Wedding Films came and made a beautiful, emotional and cinematic film. Now I’m not saying he’s not good, because he’s so great and a good friend of mine, but you can’t get the atmosphere and drama and awe that you can here in the Dolomites anywhere else. This place is the perfect location for an adventurous couple’s elopement and hosts the perfect backdrop for an Italian wedding film.
Romance and Relaxation: Lake Baies is a perfect location to relax and unwind. After a long hike or an emotional day eloping and saying your vows to your now husband or wife. What a perfect location to relax and be one with nature. You could enjoy a romantic picnic and stare at your wedding rings and think about how your wedding ceremony went surrounded by these gorgeous waters and stunning mountains.
