This Intimate Gilpin Lake House Wedding really brightened up things this year. 2020 was a tough year for everyone. Though one thing that the pandemic wasn’t able to stop was love. Sure many people postponed their weddings so they could throw the celebrations that that always wanted. Though some people wanted to marry the love of their life regardless of where it was or how many guests they could have. With so few weddings actually happening, I was incredibly lucky to shoot this wedding in the Lake District for Louise and Sam.
This was one of the most incredibly intimate weddings that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Due to the couple not really wanting a huge wedding this intimate wedding venue was the perfect location for their wedding. Being a Gilpin Lake House Wedding Photographer I know the venue well and with the location being so perfect it made life a little more simple to go and create these images for Sam and Louise. With just 6 people attending the wedding including the bride and groom it really was an intimate wedding. Here you can see the father of the bride with his daughter walking her through the gorgeous grounds that surround Gilpin Lake House. As far as wedding photos go it’s a dream place to shoot weddings here.
The lake at Gilpin Lake House isn’t like the other lakes in and around Cumbria. This lake is private and if you hire this wedding venue for your own wedding, you’ll have exclusive access. As a Lake District Wedding Photographer, I can tell you from experience that this wedding venue really is up there as one of the most beautiful in the whole county. With the wedding being so small, I wasn’t there for as long as I normally would be when I shoot a wedding. It was great to get to know everyone though and we had plenty of flexibility to do the relaxed portrait session with the couple.
Gilpin Lake House Photos
It rained pretty much all day during the wedding and when you’re getting married in the Lake District no matter what time of year, you’re likely to get rain. These guys totally embraced it though and it didn’t stop them from having an amazing wedding. They have a gorgeous walk down to the outdoor ceremony location down by the lake. Just the walk down is amazing before being greeted by the lakeshore. Thats why this venue makes it onto my top outdoor wedding venues in the lake district.
