Why I Love This Wedding Photo

When I normally post a wedding photograph in this “Why I Love This Photo” series they’re not usually super picturesque images. I wanted to choose one from this wedding up in the Lake District. My couple in Cumbria Clare and Richard got married at New House Farm. Its such a quaint and beautiful wedding venue in the lakes and just a short drive from Crummock Water.

Its one of the things I love about being a Lake District Wedding Photographer, there is just wedding photo opportunities like this all over Cumbria. This image was actually taken one the banks of Crummock Water.

Once Clare and Richies barn wedding ceremony took place we left in the car for the short drive to the waterside. Sometimes there can be too many options in a place like this but I love the grandeur and the simplicity of this wedding portrait. Thats why in my opinion this image is better in black and white. I could have photographed here for hours, though we only had a short amount of time before we headed back for the rest of this wedding at New House Farm.

I’m only just over an hours drive from the Lake District and its somewhere I really want to visit more personally. Its no wonder people find it easy to find reasons to get married here. It’s full of so many great places, in fact its probably difficult to make a decision with so many beautiful options. It’s also home to some amazing Lake District outdoor wedding venues.
