Why I Love This Wedding Photo

Photographing wedding in the Lake District is something I’m super passionate about. I only live an hour or so from this incredible national park in Cumbria. For this “Why I Love This Photo” series I’ve chosen a wedding photo thats in one of the beautiful places in the world but taken indoors.

First of all this wedding at Cragwood Country House was around Christmas time and with the timings we had most of the wedding day was during the darker hours. So there was not much of the gorgeous Lake Windermere we could see. Even during the early afternoon when we had some light, the skies where typically grey and there was alight drizzle. Standard Lake District weather really. Though there are still many reasons to get married in the Lake District if the weather is a problem.

Anyway most of the images that I feature in the “Why I Love This Photo” series are more to do with the wedding guests and the people in the photos that the photography skill its self.

All day during this wedding David had a look on his face that he just couldn’t believe his luck that he had found Rachel. It pretty much put a smile on my face from the moment I saw this awesome groom up until after the wedding and I was driving home.

In the image below you’ll see the look on Davids face. This is basically him celebrating that he has won the wife lottery. It’s not always about the quality of the photograph but the quality of which the moment was captured.

I’d like to think that anyone who looks at this wedding photograph will really be able to feel the emotion that he’s going though. You can really put yourself in his shoes and imagine being that excited.

I hope during my next visit to cumbria as a Lake District Wedding Photographer I get to meet more people like these guys. It was such a pleasure to meet both Rachel and David.
